Using Monash University to conduct studies (yes I know Monash have a lot of car/speed research going on). How about getting local universities to research it instead.
The results: By implementing 1000's of speed cameras, they may be able to reduce the amount of deaths per 100,000 relating to speed from 9 to 5. Because in Europe, its all about the speed cameras - not the design quality of the roads/freeways/highways - not the better driver education given.
No no no, teaching driver education from early ages, fixing the silly road signs, better identification at merge points, concentrating on tailgating, drink driving, poor driving attitudes and having realistic speed limits would not help the road toll at all.

It's funny how all the road toll / speed camera studies come from Monash University.
Guess who contributes a large "donation" to Monash University every year
I'm all for 1000 cars rocking up to Parliament house.
