It is a real Civic Type R. And anyone who has driven it and the other type-r's (DC2, DC5 even the EK9) will agree that it lives up to its name.
The one you are talking about is the JDM Type-R sedan. 166KW. Bear in mind that it will come de-tuned to Australia because of our crappy petrol; safe to expect around the 150KW mark (similar to the euro hatch we have now).
And for all the VTEC bashers, it feels quicker than the stock 08 WRX. Seems to handle better and has a s**tload of features that Subaru owners would wish for. Im not trying to convert any of you to Honda fans, but to express to the motor enthusiasts that the new Civic Type-R is a superb performer and the most enjoyable drive I have ever had. Give it a go, you will be pleasantly surprised...
