The only safe place to spectate at that hairpin bend was where the guy with the camera was. Same corner where Giggi Galli backs it in at about 160 Km/h. I'm sure you've all seen it.
As for the guy getting thrown out of the car window, I'd suspect he had a seat failure or had a standard road car seat. Drivers don't fly out of race harnesses otherwise, and they do not break. The old Nascar type buckle (now outlawed) had an over centre latch that could be dislodged inadvertantly by your sleeve in a rollover.
Tragic thing is that if he had a decent side mount fixed seat and his belts tight he probably would have had nothing more than black eyes. It rolled many times but there was no real big impact.
