no no... he may have bought them himself, but he also may have bought them off someone else... I think what kyms saying is that they stopped allowing plates relating to car types so that people won't rip other people off... but i dont think thats the case. No idea why they stopped allowing it.
I'm not sure either (for example) if you went in and ordered the plates [S201] and registered them to a corolla... and then after they are purchased transfer them to the S201, whether that is aloud or not. Or if they've banned car related plates all together.
This rule came in end of Feb 08, Dad was refused plates in March thats how we found out about it, there is a thread about it...
