As long as it has the lip to clip the weight on it can go anywhere. It just looks nicer to have stick ons on the inside..

A lot of 4WD mag wheel with 16s must have smash ons on the face lip, as it gets pretty hard to balance a 265/75/16 on a 16x8. alot more rubber gives a lot more wobbles, hence you see a lot of weight on 4wd rims.

most VW mag wheels require stick on on the inside and the back edge as well, have a flat no lip.

My Subi rims had the weights on the outside..

Also, if the rims or tyres are a fair way out of whack ( upto 100grams) on Alloy 2 ( stick on inner/smash on outer), you'll find using 2 bang ons (dynamic) instead will reduce the weight down quite considerably. 1 of my rims is considerablly bent, has 120grams on the face lip with bash ons, had 180grams with a stick on.

but just looks like the fitter was in a quite rush and just smashed them on.

Nice satria GTi rims though, do you actually own one or just bought them for another car ? my missus has one too.
