Update - Disconnected the MAF sensor while the engine was running, it stalled and threw a CEL. Started the car up again out of interest and it ran fine with the MAF still disconnected. Also noticed the idle exhaust note sounded better (back to the typical lumpy boxer sound).
Reconnected the sensor and took the car for a run around the block. Sounded like it was breathing better but low boost (back to the original reason for this thread). Reset the ECU and took her for another run and all seems well for now (99%).
Intermittent fault with the MAF perhaps?

Unless you have a spare $5000 floating around......
Don't try to drive it on boost until you have it checked (i.e. dyno with a wide band O2).
(Otherwise you'd better look up a good Flatbed tow truck now...... and keep the number in your speed dial.)
Trying to drive the car on boost with a possible
MAF issue is asking for BIG wallet draining trouble.
Borrow a known good
MAF off another member and try that.
Don't fuck around with yours and don't keep trying to boost it ffs!
