When i was renting, I had to get my bro to fill in a form to say he was moving in - Pretty much same as the rental application in the first place. I think they just like to know who else is living there.
It all comes down to the owner. If you can get a direct line to the owner and they are cool, you are winning. Most of the time I just called the owner to get things checked/sorted, as property managers are generally complete cunts in all experiences I have had with them. (slow, lazy, don't care about tenants, inefficient, anal about rent inspections (cobwebs ffs??), generally just want to stab them in the face and bury them in a shallow grave in the back yard)
It's harder to move out of a house than move in - final inspection etc, getting bond back - Even when you are an excellent tenant.
