Just have a think about it, as the last thing you want is to get sponsorship kesh and then have Mr ATO come take it away. I also can't see a company handing over say $5k cash without receiving a tax invoice in return.
One of the accountant fellows could chime in on this I guess.

I'm no tax accountant but I do know that DTW have sponsored all manner of things in the past such as motorcycle enduro event rider, farking Pannawonnica rodeo bull rider, Motorvation 2009 just to name a few. We are privately owned company and if we think its good community based advertising we do it.
