How do these pedals go for grip? Doesn't look like much on them...

The rubber cover on my clutch pedal is buggered; been keeping an eye out for a while now. I know that the rubber pedals are required for a safety reason, and many aftermarket pedals can be canaried.


Edit - I'm guessing the little circles are rubber etc to satisfy legalities, but do they work?
