I don't doubt that,

Do a few 600-800km+ weeks consecutively, in your fox shorts and shirt and tell me if you're still of the same opinion.

When you are on the bike day in day out, Lycra + padding + chamois creme is the only thing keeping you out of hospital with an infected saddle sore.
I'm not being extreme, people I train with have been put out of action for months because of it.

Lycra is a case of form following FUNCTION,
Not because we want to look "homo".
