I just fitted a GFB Stealth FX and had exactly the same problem. I narrowed it down to an incorrect spring tension setting once I'd set it back to the plumb-back position and tested it.
Now with it open to 100% atmospheric and the spring tightened another 4 turns (about 2 from maximum), idling is no longer a problem!
