That would make it a Power FC Pro to suit GC8D/E 09/96-08/98.

Pro has launch control i.e Its not a true launch control. What it does is offer a 2 stage rev limit, one which is static and the other one is absolute.

So if you set the static one at 2500rpm, as long as the ECU is reading 0 kph then it will limit the revs to the set level, and as the FC pro cuts the ignition and not the fuel as a by product you get lots of bangs and pops as the fuel ignites (quazzie anti lag)

It does mean you can have full throttle launches at full boost, but is doesn't pull ignition timing like 'proper' anti lag

Rpm limiters are also ignition cut on the pro V fuel cut on all other wrx power fc's.

Power FC Pro's are UBER rare for Wrx's.

If you can find the Apex part number (414-????) for it I can find some more info for you.

Easiest way to I.d it as a Pro for sure is to power it up.

Rb25det PRO example

The hand controller will say:

'EJ207 Pro
Power FC
version x.xx'

Otherwise open the case and look at the CPU.
Heres an rb25det pro chip, all PRO models are marked like this...your should say 'ej207 pro' if its a legit one.

Here's a link to everything power Fc:
clicky!

Keeping it or selling it?

I know of a MY98 that could use it

bring up an old post

Rossco, I have removed the cover and can see a part number
FC-24 A0 ( the 0 has a / through it )

I asked Geoff to power it up a few years ago, but can not recall the out come of it.

I would like you to please have a look at it some time.

Neil, we'll need an early car to plug it into to power it up safely without popping any of the output driver mosfets.

The differences are in software only, the boards themselves are identical.

for a direct plug in ecu, there possibly the best bang for $
as for a 98 there practically worthless these days for resale so what every you spend is $ the drain. keep it stock and drive it
