Power fc ??
Hi everyone, my dad has given me a power fc ECU i dont no too many things about it and would apperciate if i threw a few questions out there and a few of use would help me.
Is the power fc plug and play ?? If i need a tune what sort of money am i looking at ? Do i need a hand controller ? Ive been told with the power fc gc8 model that there is one from models 93-97 then 98-00 if this is true how can i tell ?? I think that is all thanks everyone |

Hi.
Name? What WRX do you have? Serial number? Mods? Future mods? Pics? I think that should be all. Welcome.

1. yes plug and play but you need to set the idle etc
2. tune will probably cost 300-400 depending where you go, i recommend all star garage 3. you dont need one but its pretty handy 4. check the serial number and search google to find out which one does what model pretty much all your answers can be found here Apexi PowerFC FAQ

1) The Power FC can be a plug and play.
2) Tuning of these like everything is variable. Sean @ ASG tuned them well when i had one. Maybe allow for $100 an hour for 4 hours at a really rough guess. Im sure people will have a more accurate idea that have had it done recentley. 3) You dont need a hand controller, however when i had mine, it was a god send. It showed all sorts of vital signs of the car such as knock. Which can be the difference between knowing your car is detonating and finding out it was detonating with your engine apart in a workshop. Priceless personally. 4) 414BF001 + 415-A030 Subaru - WRX - Ver1,2 92/11-96/8 414BF005 + 415-A030 Subaru - WRX - Ver3,4 96/9-98/8 414BF003 + 415-A030 Subaru - WRX - Ver5,6 98/9-00/7 They are your 3 units that range from version 1 to version 6. Be aware wiring harnesses are different for these models hence the difference (eg 3 pins etc) 5) Check the model number on it, id say that should tell you. 6) Tits or gtfo
