I believe the only time your suppose to indicate left to exit when going straight is in a double lane roundabout and your in the inside lane.

No wonder everyone gets confused and pissed off on the roads, we all get told different things.

It took me quite a while to get used to 'indicating off' here. (Being an Ex-Melbournite).
When I learnt to drive, left was left, right was right, and straight through was nothing. (Victorian thing). That said, I DO indicate off roundabouts, as this is what state law dictates. I have had a couple of close shaves, where people approaching a dual carriage RAB, (to my right), left lane... have indicated left, (so i thought they were turning left), then they go straight, hit the middle, and indicate off. Luckily no harm has ever come of it. *touch wood* Brent.

You don't indicate Left when entering the roundabout but must indicate Left when leaving going straight.
Same applies when turning right, when leaving the RAB you must indicate left as you turn and exit.

It's very simple, once on the traffic circle you are indicating 90 degrees before the exit road to indicate your desire to exit, thus advising those who wish to enter from that same road that it is safe to enter.

Meant to indicate the quarter prior to coming off the roundabout. Indicating right should only be for a right turn, not for straight through.
What shits me is tha government makes no effort to re-educate people. My parents had no idea when I got my license. |
