headlight polishing
point me to the thread if there is one.
otherwise, any detailers know what is used to polish headlights? my headlights have a coating over them of cooked on dirt/dust (i guess), makes them look like they are smoky instead of clear. where i used to work they hired people to come out and polish up the old falcons and commodores and such that had severe cases of "yellowing" on their lenses and they came up a treat. |

Mine were like that on my car when i bought it. I just used meguires swirl remover but any polish should do it.

any polish doesn't work, i tried with meguiars car polish, mr sheen did a better job of it by soaking the lens in mr sheen foam then giving it a good scrub. but still not good enough.. i remember the guys in the workshop that were called in used a mini buffer, i might have to look into it find out who they were

Yeah... I tried all sorts with my gf's car. Nothing worked.
Be sure to let us know if you happen to find out who it is!

you can try a cut and polishing compound but it could scratch the lenses a bit, but will still look better than cloudy lenses. You do have to rub it a bit though

i have done a few falcons and just used cut and polish compound. For the last polish just do it very very lightly. Takes a bit of timebut works well

i heard bbq cleaner works well and also if ya use a very fine grit wet n dry sand paper eg. greater then 800 grit and then use a slight cut n polish and should come up crystal clear!
