Awesome DIY. Well done. I'm far too impatient to take on something like that myself. Every time I've tried to spray paint something it's come out terrible.

Bodyfiller will definately not survive a tyre swap. If you must DIY a repair reshape the lip with files to remove gutter scrapes.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. It took me over 2 hours just to write this thread. I hope it can go to some use in some way to someone. As I said already, there are other threads on other forums which do it different ways, but not here, on the site that counts :- Perth WRX

I will not use the heat lamp for anything else so if anyone needs a hand to do their rims, let me know and I am happy to lend a helping hand or let anyone on here borrow the light should they need it.

Turned out awesome....i wish my 06 came with those rims....fuggen hate the bbs style...not even worth painting....

Awesome advice! Has anyone tried this trick/have pictures of 04 stock rims painted in a solid white? White rims and good ol' wrx blue POP! would be keen to give it a try
