looks like a great update! Rexbois, looks like you may have to parchase a box to connect to PS3? I saw it on the big TV screen down te bottom where it had 'box' + PS3 + TV.

too bad we don't get all the channels europe do.. we still really only get to watch what we see on Digital TV anyway whis is probably about 10 channels. Seems the real benifit of this would be that you can record to PS3 hard drive and watch later... and stream to PSP.

I tink it may cost money for an external reciever or something could be wrong

the software would be free but it might require something to attach an antenna to to ps3.

I don't have access to utube so can someone explain what a dual tuner dvr is??

I know there is something caslled PLAYTV coming out in Nov which is a small box allowing you to record TV direct to the PS3, is this the same thing.

PlayTV is an accessory for the PS3 that lets you use the PS3 hardware as a DVR. It is expected to cost ~$200. It only has a single antenna in, so you can't piggy back it through your current TV (i.e. to watch any TV you need to have the PS3 on).

I'm assuming it connects to one of the USB ports on the PS3 and has dual tuners in the extra box.

This is not an official PS3 update or anything, it is purely a 3rd party add on.

As you record shows direct to your PS3 I wonder what format it will be recorded in. I'm hoping MP4, so it will be compatible with IPODS.
