^run both OS

A Mac running Windows obviously isn't going to be good as PC, but with Intel chips and the likes these days, if you choose to run Windows when you boot up (rather than the other option of having Windows run inside of Mac OS) then it should be fairly smooth.

+1 for 27" I've only had my 27" a couple months, and I could already do with a bigger screen

Did you go with the option for a Solid State HDD? That would be sweet and superfast for booting up programs etc... then keep data on a plug-in portable drive

nah no solid state HDD (at least I don't think so). & i bought a 1TB mybook world, so setup is Mac, with all music, photos, movies on My book which connects to PS3 (for photos & movies) & airport express for the music. Although the Mac is still in it's box! Moving data at the moment which for some reason is going at 10mb/s & I have almost 1TB so it's f**king slow!

I had friends at Uni running Windows XP on their mac laptops claiming it was quicker than most PC's. I must say I thought it was just as good from the looks of it.....
