A few questions !
Just need a round idea on what these things could be...
On the way home tonight i noticed my BOV going off twice...And a slight whisle when you let go of the accelerator Also a slight increase in turbo spool noise ? Time for a new turbo maybe ? Question 2 is audio related...I got a new amp pioneer 800w mono block amp running my 2x12" subs Now all was going fine the instal was done clean and clean, but half way through my night last night it cut out once or twice ? Now i have stripped everything back out and its all wired up...Nothings loose etc etc What happens is the power source light is flickering...All the fuses are fine and dandy. Again any ideas ? Ill be taking the car back to Audiocom to get it fixed or sorted

Prob got a leak somewhere in the lines shauno as to why induction sound is louder cause its pissing out air pressure . . .
Any loss in psi or car feel like its not goin as harD?

also if ur amp cant take the power of the subs it goes in SAFE mode next time it cuts out look at the amp and see if the RED light is on if it is then thats wat happend
and also check ur GROUND wire too and REMOTE the BLUE wire thats behind ur deck see if thats soldered nicely let us know how u went |

SPOOLED we have removed ALL wiring and hard wired the amp for a test and it still does it...All wires are intact and the amp Does not come on at all just flickers the red light.

As stated above for your turbo issue, but your amp sounds like it's getting too hot. Audiocom are notorious for setting up systems wrong and dodgy. Just a lack of experience from trainees and people they hire. Quality is in direct proportion to price in this case. I would be turning the gains down and making sure your filters are set for the correct frequency. Start with Low pass at 90Hz and High pass about 110Hz.
To properly set the output level on your amp: Ideally have a friend in the car with the doors closed 1) turn gains all the way down, disconnect rca's for the subs, put all bass and treble controls on the head unit back to Zero 2) insert the best quality cd you own, preferably something with good deep bass, lots of highs and a very clear voice. I always use a female like Whitney Houston (The Bodygaurd) or similar as this quickly identifies any problems with your main speakers being pushed too hard. 3) turn your head unit up till you hear the speakers start to pop. You'll know cause it sounds awful when they do. Back off the volume until it stops popping. 4) SLOWLY start turning the gain up again till you hear popping then back it off a smidge till it's ok again. Main speakers are now set. 5) disconnect the main rca's and put the sub one's back in 6) do the same with the volume on the head unit and gain for the sub as you did before, but it will be abit harder to tell when it's been maxed out. 7) reconnect all rca's, double check everything is tight and secure. Now you may want to fiddle with the crossover filters to achieve a personnal liking to how your system sounds for the music you listen too. My advice is only turn one at a time and do it in small increments. 8) crank it up and enjoy simulated industrial deafness!!! In addition make sure your amp is getting plenty of air circulation ie. it's not under a seat, covered up or sandwhiched between something. You probably have already noticed when you change different styles of music or shit quality burnt music the output of your bass or treble will be off to as it was before. Then you can fiddle with the bass and treble from the head unit. If all has been done right you should be sweet. we probably need more detail... like what voltage is your batterey making at the amp?
try earthing to another spot. is there any funny smells comming from the amp? make sure it isnt shorting anywhere on the chasis (eg power cable have been cut) your best bet is to try another amp that you know works and try it at that spot :P |
