I've been tailgated by a bald tyred Commie tool in the wet that smacked into my boot in the WRX.

So long as the roof is not crinkled and the C pillars are intact the car is repairable. It could be quite cheap if you can source parts yourself such as those from Pimpreza above.

Post up some pics so we can have a look at the damage. You will be surprised how many members can supply parts cheap.

Ok I'll get some picks. It has crinkled the roof though and the right hand rear side of the car is now shorter than the left and the door is touching the 1/4 panel.

OK guys have finally resolved this matter.

They have paid out "almost" what the car is worth with all its mods AND we get to keep her car.

The reason was that even though the market value of the car is $4000 you can't find one for under $7000, then by the time you pay to paint all the panels (as there are no whites) and replace the lights, exhaust etc.

This was with Westfarmers insurance, they have been great in dealing with this matter and we will probably be going with them when Jem gets her P's!

Thanks for the help guys, I hope this has been helpful for people in the same situation!

Good to see they worked out, dont get your hopes up about insurance, 9/10 times they'll try stooge you.

My old mans VL (back in the day, bought the Executive brand new!) was stolen and burnt. Insurance refused to pay saying he had to prove to them that he didnt steal it and burn it himself for a payout.

Went to the papers (this was in sydney) and did a big write up. Amazing how quickly they gave him the money. Pretty dog act considering its a single man working with a mother of 2 at home.
