also remember that putting any kind of lowering spring on your car is going to accelerate the wear on your struts particularly if you are doing track work with them.

ok, i booked my car in today at wheels world for the 26th, talked to john, gettin whiteline springs (lowered 40mm) and getting centre roll kit aswell,
just in time i have a track day comin up at AHG in sept and im up againest xr8's (1 of them is supercharged), xr6 turbo's and a few SS's, wont beat them in a straight line but in the corners i will hopefully and ill be the only rex unfortunately i have limited funds, now that i have a rex but will save my hard earned dough, for strut bar and sway bars but might get exhaust before i get them, cause everytime i hear a rex i get so envy hearin it rumble past my work. |

if your going to be tracking it, i would definitely start swaying towards coilovers as a long term future option.

For those enlightened individuals suggesting king springs are crap.
Step 1: http://mcasuspension.com/main.htm Step 2: Scroll down. Look at results. Step 3: Realize that Murray supplies his suspension units with king springs. Step 4: Think again about statement that king springs are shit.

LOL Ben do you really think that Murray is just using stock struts and kings springs ? Nobody wrote king springs are shit either. I read Murray website which states its "under construction" and no mention at all that he uses king springs either.

I have a set of his 2 ways (high/low speed bound and rebound) on my car. They weren't cheap and they came with king springs. They are the same units he recommends for anyone who asks for tarmac struts for events like Targa Tasmania etc. Sure he makes custom ones as well for people like TRD.
In any case a blanket statement that whiteline springs > king springs is just ridiculous. What's the science behind it? It's just one of those bullshit throw away lines you see on internet forums with no real substance to it.

ive had various dms's over the years and from my experience they are still the benchmark. current set of 40's with top hats is a new thing for me, but having had my time all over again, i would of gone the 50's. food for thought if in years to come you may be in the market for a better range of gear. king spring internet bashing, correct me if im wrong, don't 90% of springs used in all major competition work come from mark king? substance is something that is lacking bigtime on the web! |

the person to speak to for all things suspension @ mms is steve wisby, but his o/s until thurs.
if going down mms you will lucky to get anything done on your car before october. this side of dms's and reigers, shops like mms or racetorque seldom come to the party. alk's, springs and the like are bread and butter for wheels world type shops and 10/10 times your better serviced by them. |
