yea im looking to upgrade to a vf34 and also looking at a front mount pretty much exactly like lukes, because i would have to pay $400+ for a new bonnet anyway as the wagon only has a gx bonnet, so i thought may as well

If you intend putting the 99/00 crystal headlights in it then you will need to change the bonnet regardless. That bonnet on there is off a 93 Impreza.

how much different are the lights? im just thinkin thats pretty expensive just to get crystal lights is all :\

Bonnet, headlights and grill are a different shape so all 3 need to match up to the same generation.

Dont know what he means by the long bonnet, as they are all the same length, but any bonnet from mid 97 to 00 will fit with the crystal headlights.
