[QUOTE=deviant]You can swap bits over as long as you get the right permits and inform the DPI of the engine number change.
You shouldn't need permits to put ALL the jdm gear into the local wrx, as the wrx was already a turbo... you should only need to do a change of engine number form.

Haha, good idea Scooby, but yes its illegal as people have said.
But as type 25 said, you can swap parts from the STI into the club spec. just dont touch the ID plates on each car and you should be fine. and do the change of engine number form if changing the engine. http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1887.asp

only trouble with buying a b-reg car and swapping parts over you still have to provide evidence of intended motorsport use for one car, chiefly a roll-cage. this is where the half-cut(s) become the easiest way of converting your wrx or adm sti into a jdm model. decide on the model, get someone like jws to import the two halves for you, carry ou the conversion yourself or pay a subaru workshop to do it for you.

yeah this all seems like hard work now lol
may just get a sti engine fitted then let local dla know about it ie engine number change.... saying that it may not need one for a while anyway fingers crossed..... i am happy with just the burble (3"tbe) a bov and a bit more boost!! |

Sorry to hijack your thread but how would it go with permits
or forms putting a jdm sti 2lt into a say a 2lt ADM gx or a 2.5lt ADM wrx? As its going from non turbo to turbo but same capacity and going from a 2.5lt turbo to a 2lt turbo going down in capacity but both being from the same year of production.

You would still need to get an engine change form to show the engine has changed and then get an engineering cert to show that it has had a displacement change from the original factory condition.

there would be plenty of engineers who would sign off on a 2.5 conversion to a wrx for way less than $1500.
shop around
