Default Looking at getting another wrx need a bit of advice

Hey guys have owned 2 wrx's before (gc8's) and have decided to get another one however I haven't really been much into the new ones since i have owned a few cars since my wrx. Looking at getting a 2003 sti just have a few questions.

The one i am looking at is running 1.5bar, i could not find a bleed valve of any kind so i am guessing its running a verso or similar tune. Is 1.5 a lot of boost for one of these engines? it seems it.

Where can i get one of those carbon fibre front lips?
Can anyone help me do that mod to the headlight to get rid of indicators colour?

Are they 207's? not the 2.5?
What turbo do they run? and can you get bolt on upgrades?
What is the best oil to use in these engines?

Are there any special things to look for when buying?

cheers

not sure if the adm version like the uk got a vf35 jap one got vf34 but i think it will have the vf35 and not the vf34.

1.5 bar is ok they are a 207, headlamps need to go into the oven lol 20 minutes of a job to do and look way better when done!

yeah its more than likely verso,d check his/her paperwork....

and just the usual things to look for like when you looked at ya classics ie smoke on or off boost rattles ie top end or bottem end, paint work ie crash repairs original panels etc etc oh and listen for the diffs clunking ie if its had a few hard launches in its life!! and just generally check all the paperwork and the service records....

A guy on here Rob = doadrift) is selling his stock 03 STI if you'd prefer something not mucked around with. It has a front lip on it too now

Not at all, just about perfect for the stock turbo. Should be making 300 or so hp at the wheels, fun drive.

The first part is a VF35. Are you serious about the next question??!! Of course there are bolt on parts

Fresh oil is best!! But seriously, Motul 300V Chrono 10W40 or similar.

Compression in each cylinder. Take it to a reputable workshop and have it compression tested. You want each of the cylinders to be within 5-10% of each other which would signify an engine in top nick.
Accident damage. Take a tape measure and make sure things are square.
As Gezza said, clunks in the trasmission, all the windows/mirrors work as they should, and obviously look at the service history.

Illl probably use the fully syn 10/40 castrol oil my dad has at his workshop. Going to have a look at another one today and some fd rx7 :O but wrx seems like the smarter choice
