Yeah thats it.. i ran 17 only becuase ecu would cut at 18 all the time..

i had no dramas at all.. 17 i would say is a safe boost level for evryday driving..

obviusly exhuast and air flow would be good mods before doing the boost..

i was running 16psi with a dual stage maunal contoller, stock internals and was getting spikes in the boost and hitting the boost cutter, i turned it down to 15 now, still spikes but it doesnt hit the cutter anymore.

Just be careful with what ya run.

Sounds cheap and it might be, however you know the job gets done the right way!
im not saying you need to delve all into theory. a general idea on how an engine works, what your doing by increasing boost, and what problems may occur before you tinker with the engine is in my mind a smarter move than having no idea and just messing ar ound with random stuff.

1.3/1.4 bar is fine on stock internals, td04 can do it, yet only breifly, best suggestion is to grab a vf35/30/34/28/29 and do it with one of those. save the td04 for when you sell the car stock.

I run a TD04 and it is tuned for 1.3 bar but like tuna says, it doesn't do it for very long and your pushing it to the limits. It is not very efficient at this boost, but does provide a great kick in the back. I went down the new ECU path...
