Factory 207 bottom end?
Cossie oil pump
Proper head work, decent cams, big snail & 2 bar?

or Cossie 2.2 stroker?

I haven't seen a reliable 257 yet.

The cosworth motors aren't sleeved. Maybe there is a reason for that? I don't know....

Why not just get your current motor rebuilt? It will be a lot cheaper. I think cosworth longs range from 15-25k.

In regards to reliability issues, usage is probably the number one factor in how long things last, and if they are not designed and built with the intended usage in mind then you have absolutely no chance.

I don't want a 207. I've got a 207.
The short time i got out of my 257 was a dream compared to the 2 litre.

As for rebuilding mine, its still awaiting diagnosis to see if it can be.

It wasn't a WA shop. I'll see how it goes before I name and shame.

They dont know you don't line up the gaps in the rings though...
Thats only the start so far. Thats what led to cracking it open to find the butchery inside.
