Wheels World is great but their prices are getting ridiculous. Wilkinsons are just as good and well priced to boot!

Wilkinsons

Have taken my GTR there 3 times in past few weeks - excellent service and great price.

Only experience I had with Wilkinsons they bent the areial on my GTR and then tried to deny it. I saw it happen from inside the office but they denied it and bent it back by hand before while I was still arguing inside. From then on everytime it went up or down it grinded..

Accidents happen but arguing with a customer and denying any wrong doing while out the back trying to bodgy it up is not on....

^^^ Pretty dissapointing, but I guess we all have our bad stories about various workshops. I have a far more serious one about one of the other leading suspension shops, but as far as I am concerned it was a bit of an isolated incident and not a true reflection of their work.

Brett... was that a Wilko or an employee? Brett and his old man are pretty careful about how they treat cars.

Was an employee who was driving the car, but Brett and his Dad were both involved in the discussions...

LOL i had a guy come from Alfa Barbagallo's with a bad wheel alignment job, do they cut it with you?

Each tyre and alignment place varies depending on who's doing the job.

You can get a place youve been to for years and had great work done, and then the next get a bad job.. sometimes it happens or the person doing the job moves on that used to do it for you.

All im saying is keep an open mind.

No way I would have Alf Barbagallos do an alignment on my car!!!!!!!!

I think you missed my point. If you are just after an everyday alignment, then I am sure there are plenty of people out there who can help you. If you are into motorsport or sport oriented driving and developing the handling of your car and trying to get the best out of it, there are very few businesses out there who understand these requirements and can get them set up right.

Plenty of people can align your car to factory specs, but from my expereince the factory specs are very lame and are designed to make the car safe to drive...generally understeer and not be too lively. And this is generally what you get at your local tyre shop. But if you want it to handle you have to step well outside what the factory recommends. There are very few shops with the knowledge to know where to take the settings to get it to really steer.

I used Wilkinson's for my coilover installation/alignment, and Wheels World has done all the other suspension bits for me. WW were unavailable at the time, otherwise i would've asked them to install the coils.
I like their service, even if it's a little pricey. John has always looked after me and i like his approach. He's even fixed punctured tyres for me for free!
