Default Alarm Issue

Hey guys, I have a problem that someone may be able to help me with.

The factory fitted car alarm is not sounding..

Normally when I open the doors with the remote central Locking button, the car chirps at me, once when unlocking and twice when locking, or is the other way around, I am not sure

This morning when I unlocked the car and had the normal chirp and when I locked it no chirp. So I unlocked it again, no chirp.

Also the sound of the doors locking sounds differant...

Has anyone experianced this???????? If so please help

Just check that all the doors bonnet and boot are shut. if one is open a little alarm wont arm. also check ur manual u can actually enable and disable the chirps.

Default All fixed

Found out how to fix it, lock the doors and press the lock button 3-5 times until it chirps again. You can do this to make it stop chirping as well

He He He... You probably sat on it or pressed against the button in your pocket to make the chirp switch off.

Yeah this is common amongst all new wrx's if you press the locked button 5 times it'll chirp. 5 times on the unlock stops it chirping.

I'm so glad I searched this, mine did this on a cruise and thought my battery was dying.
Jumped on here -> Read it -> Ran outside with the key -> Pressed lock five times -> "Great Success!"

Can't get the chirp enabled on the Betty... apparently you have to:

*hold the unlock button down and insert/re-insert the immobiliser key 6 times within 10 seconds
*open and close driver's side door within 10 seconds of previous steps

If any Betty owners know how to do it successfully, let me know. Only mention of chirps in my manual is how to disable it, not re-enable.
