Fuel supply upgrade
Since fuel is so cheap atm I'm trying to think of ways to use more.
I have an 450hp fuel pump already so I'm looking at finishing it off with the following. Perrin Fuel Rail kit $450ish Anyone have any experience/advice on these rails? PE 650's $850 ish Unsure about upgrading the regulator, keen for opinions. Aeromotive $180 ishs Cheers Chris Above prices are without freight & customes.

Dont bugger around with regulators such as aeromotive, malpassi, etc.

or dont bother with regulators or fuel rails all together,
stock rails and regs can still supply me enough fuel for 800cc injectors at 70% duty and 1.7/8 bar manifold pressure, still lots of room to move, and thats with a boring old walbro pump. chris, you'll probably need to convert to top-feed injectors to make use of the perrin rail, and with that you'll need to swap to the 02+ sti manifold and throttle assembly, issues this presents is that the idle controller on the new manifold does not work with the autronic, and there is nowhere neatly to mount the coil-pack from a my99/00, the fuel injectors also will also need new clips and plugs to be changed on your existing harness, and you will more then likley need to source injectors, going aftermarket on top-feeds usually requires collars or some form of compromise to make them fit and quite often leak if not installed correctly. food for thought nehow

Joe, cheers will look at the Sard, so is it worth upgrading the factory job?
(would go two but not sure I can be bothered/have the moola to add another) Stace... fark that, cheers for the info, I'll keep looking for the rails.

unless your running out of duty on the factory injectors, and you havnt got the option of aftermarket injectors, you shouldnt upgrade the reg, bear in mind that a lot of aftermarket rising rate fuel regs can overstep the limit that the pump can supply and can cause an irregular fuel rail pressure, best advise would be to speak to whomever tunes your car and get their opinion on the best regulator for your application,

Dont ever run 2 FPRs as you will never get them both to work exactly the same. If you want to go with parallel fuel rails still only use 1 FPR.
As Stace has said, fuel rail upgrade isnt really needed, it's mainly for the bling. Another option, which is what I've done, is to have earl's fittings welded on to the end of you existing fuel rails and just run dash 6 braided lines. This increases the flow to the second rail and dresses up the engine bay nicely. |

No reg, got it.. nice work fellas, your saving me dosh by the minute.
I wouldn't have thought there would be a huge bling factor considering you can hardly see them. I'd rather spend my money on.. well.. still bling, but more noticeable bling.

Found these Sard 800cc injectors for 250 less than the PE's. From what Joe said I assume it's good gear, anyone have any experiences with their injectors.
Also what’s the story with collars? Do I need to replace these regardless what type I buy?

I run the same setup as jonno on my car, and have the parallel fuel rails with earls fittings and dash 6 line's etc... looks good and while i was still running the 380cc injectors it helped keep an even flow, then i put the reg on and put in the 473cc injectors later on down the track to give myself some more headroom for further turbo mods etc, still stocky rails though just modded for the fittings and to run parallel
