Well ever so slightly something has happened with my car. I started drawing up a plan for its 'retsurrection?'.

At this point I'm looking into the 'poor mans 2.1L stroker', that is using an OEM 2.5L crank with an OEM set of rods and a special stroker piston, inside a 2L block. On par with what Brent (Rexploit) is planning on doing with his motor, this brings capacity up to approximately 2125cc and is very similar to what Cosworth, HKS and Tomei offer in their '2.2L' stroker kits but for signficantly cheaper. I'm still finalising piston choice based on my choice of compression ratio, and part of the maths in figuring that out is knowing the capacity of the combustion chamber of the EJ20Y heads. Does anyone know what that is?

Didn't think so.

So with that in mind, and still not know what actually failed with my motor, I have gone as far as removing a few things off the engine to make it easier to remove one day soon. Then I can pull the long block down, figure out what went wrong, measure the cc, and one day order some parts to rebuild it. Slowly does it though, right?

To that end and after a many nights and hours of talking to people, I decided my best course of action wasn't to rebuild the EJ20Y block, under the assumption that it would be an open deck shitter, and so made Fats at JWS an offer he couldn't refuse on an ADM 02 STI EJ207 bottom end that was noisy and clearly suited a rebuild. Have a look at the bearings and see if you can tell me why?

I will eventually be documenting the build of the motor as it happens...

Well I think your journal is pretty accurate

Step1: Leave car at MMS for 3 years
Step2: ...
Step3: Profit? (for MMS anyway)
