Believe a some of work was done on this car by Rob and Nigel @ Platinum Auto in Jandakot - Pretty sure that's where the brakes were fitted.

Anyways Steve got me a ej257 shortblock sorted out through subaru and it's going to come from ex east.
They are supposed to have a nitro crank or something along those lines, the block you find in the 08+sti's.
Once the block arrives a set of JE forged pistons will swap the stock ones.
I will still retain the current heads with bigger cams, springs, valves, etc.. in order to achieve my goal of 250kw atw.

Will update as everything comes along, thats just a start so far.
sorry mate, not questioning your goal but doesn't the car already have a 207? Is it on its way out? If not why not keep it and play around with the turbo + cams setup. A 207 with a decent turbo will get you 250kw atw

Yeah they've done the brake conversion on this. They always have brembo kits for sale.

Yeah, Rob and Nige are very good. Most if not all the work on my car has been done through them. Moving w/shop soon and i've heard a rumour they have a dyno.

Yeah its got a 207 already. There is nothing wrong with it. I was going to just go and put on a greddy td06 kit on it and drive it until it lasts me. To do a set of cams on the 207 the engine will have to come out again and if i decide with a 257 later i'll have to pay twice.
To be honest I like how the 2.5's are with the extra torque they make, perfect for street driving. Don't get me wrong man, the 207 is a well prooven bulletproof donk but it's just what i want to do so hopefully im doing the right thing.

cheers

Keep in mind if you want to put some decent pressure through the TD06, the EJ257 is gonna need more than just forged slugs.

fair enough...i like the low down torque idea of the 257 and you probably can fit a bigger turbo and not worry about the lag so much but as above you wont be able to run high psi. I reckon matching the turbo to the donk will be very important here (as it always is)

I'm upset to say it but im not going to be able to hang onto the car anymore due to work commitments. Work is my priority right now and i will be flying 6 weeks on and 3 off from perth to Egypt at the mines and i have one toy which i must hang onto as im still building it but the wrx has to go as I wont have enough time for both. I'm hoping one day i will own a wrx again and do as i planned on doing with this one with engine mods etc.

Thank you

I've got the cosworth 2.2 stroker kit for sale so if interested see below link with car
