Default Howdy

Hi guys and girls,

I have been a member for a while now but since I have only just uploaded some photos onto my comp I thought now would be a good time to formally introduce myself and my car. (EDIT- having some internet problems tonight so ironically the photos don't seem to be loading, will try again tomorrow)

I am 23 years old and thanks to the hail sale last year I am now the proud owner of a white MY00 gc8 wrx aka my dream car!! the hail damage is only minimal and it is otherwise a very solid little car. It only had one owner since new with full log books and was stock as a rock with only 100K on the speedo.

Since getting it over the pits in July last year I have done the following:
  • TBE 3" SS X-force system with an oval varex muffler that I have hardwired in - very handy for not waking up the housemates as I leave for work early
  • V6 STi carbon fibre front strut brace
  • Whiteline ALK
  • De-badged the boot (minus the SUBARU badge)
  • blacked out the orange 'thingy' under the front indicators
  • midnight black (I think...) window tint
  • Full detail and paint rejuvenation thanks to Wax Em
  • STi pedals
And tomorrow I have it booked in for an in-car windscreen antenna so I can delete the ugly one above the A-pillar. Tomorrow I will also be picking up some 02 GD wrx rims thanks to slugwrx, which will be promptly powdercoated black!

Future plans:
  • More suspension mods - bigger swaybars and possibly coilovers
  • respray front and rear bumpers and colour code side skirts
  • clear front and side indicator lights
  • Air box resonator-ectomy
  • Paint brake calipers white once new black rims are on
So as you can probably guess my budget isn't huge so I plan on going down the handling path more-so then power. As it is my daily driver I don't plan on making it too hard core and am instead looking to make it look a bit 'smoother' as well as improving the handling some more.

I will keep this post updated with more pics as my little beast gets more mods added to it but until then I will continue to read the many interesting threads that pop up on this site on a daily basis. Also great to read the numerous handy tips from so many people, it's awesome to have such a good knowledge base and different views on the one site!

Cheers,
Tom

p.s- I attended my first CM cruise this year and already can't wait for the next one! Looking forward to meeting more of you guys at future cruises

Productive day! I managed to pick up the rims from slugwrx (thanks again mate) and got my new windscreen antenna on lol on the downside i'm still having problems with loading my pics but never fear tomorrow I will try converting their file type
Gave the rims a good scrub but they still have a bit of rubbish on them so will get onto that later in the week and then send them off to be powdercoated
Can't wait to see them on the car!

Welcome to P-WRX Tom.

As AD said above... handling mods FTW.

Welcome Aboard!

White Subaru's always look awesome, even in stock form. Dropped and front lip will make a MASSIVE difference, as well as clear front and side indicators and the little orange vent on the front bar painted white or black. Well done on wanting handling mods first, i dont know why i waited so darn long to get mine all put it, makes in so much more enjoyable to drive.

Enjoy your stay!

Sam

Cheers guys! Yeh I would much prefer my car be able to take corners then just drive in a straight line lol I will be getting the sway bars as a Christmas present to myself I think haha

Sam--> Can't wait to lower it a tad! I totally agree they look SO much nicer when they sit a bit lower. The 17s i got should help a bit so that will be good but will have to get the coilovers on next years budget.

Welcome Tom. nice car mate. Love the white GC8's. I just did coilovers on my GC8 and it's so much better to drive. (Flat out around corners)
Enjoy your stay.
