gauges...whats the deal with the mechanical and electrical gauges?? and why arent u able to put mechanical ones in ? oil press/temp etc? whats the go?

because it means you'll have hot oil flowing into your cabin, which is no no

electrical uses a sensor box/controller
mechanical plugs straight into the gauge

i.e on a mechanical oil pressure guage, you need to the line from your block to the gauge in the cabin, which is illegal

mechanical boost guage is the same, you have your T peice, which you run the line from in your engine bay and run it into the cabin and plug it into the back of the gauge.

Electrical, you run the pressure line to this 'sensor' and the sensor has wires which go to a control unit and/or to the guage

Some people with old school cars and people who think they are "fully sick maaate" put mechanical oil pressure and temp gauges in but mount them outside on the bonnet rather than in the cabin.
