coatings :icon_rr:
if i were to ceramic coat my FMIC kit's piping, would there be any benifits? as the car already makes the boost i want happily, will ceramic coating contribute to spooling, ect? (elaborate to help my understanding please)
also could the same benifits if any be achived with heat wrap? cheers.

There is a different coating that goes onto ur IC pipes. It prevents heat from getting into the pipes rather than being kept in which the thermal wrap would do. U want the charge to be as cool as possible so coating it will provide benefit (i did it on my pipes), however if u would be able to see a measurable difference im not sure. It wasnt that much more to get done when i coated my turbo housings ect so that is why i went down that path.

Take a look a Mean RS's FMIC piping. the cold side is wrapped in some kind of heat resistant foam. Cheap and very effective.

Yeah coating your pipes will be of a benifit. Mainly if you have a ECU as you will be able to run more ign advance due to slightly cooler inlet air. How much though im not sure about.
On my old car the pipe from throttle body to intercooler was wrapped and you could slightly tell by seat of your pants. Ben |
