easy fix though Steve, more Dynamat and seats back in. Uglycong: seriously hard to say, as i had a new diff installed by Subaru Osborne Park, a few months ago @ 25k. I would be taking the car back and telling them to go and test drive it with you in the car.. even put car on hoist, jack it up and run it in 4th (while its off the ground) and see/hear for yourself. Is your ride a WRX or STi ? it probably dont matter but the reliability has got me scratching my head!

I have the wrx. the sound is so noticeable that I get stares. its not the slight whine at 90ish km but constant loud whine from 30kph on wards. sounds bloody scary sometimes.
anyways, it is getting replaced again. anyone have any idea why it keeps failing ? or is it just a dodgy part ? I don't boot it much or turn like a rally driver so I'm thinking dodgy part ?? Last edited by uglycong; 27-08-2007 at 03:58 PM. |

Sounds like you have been unlucky.
I had mine replaced and the noise went away straight away. It is now a little noisy, but that seems to be the norm.
