another thing i may be thinking is when i put in the bigger tmic i had to chop a bit off the clutch oil cylinder thingy, therefore having to drain some oil....could it be that the clutch is being deprived of oil and therefore ticking??

oil in the clutch system is only used for the hydraulic actuator that disengages the clutch. If you nicked one of those lines, you would not be able to disengage the clutch and select any gears. The problem is not the clutch.
Its seems you may have a larger problem at hand.

Does the sound come from the engine area? If so, is it - The back of the engine? (clutch or gearbox noise) - The middle of the engine? (main or rod bearing) - The heads? (cylinder head noise i.e. lifters) - The front? (tensioner or other ancillary noise) Should be able to narrow it down pretty well, then it will be easier to diagnose. |

check your cooling fan for anything that might be hitting the blades. Could be something as stupid as a cable tie from someone dodgy hitting a rotating component. Of course if everything you can see checks out, put a deposit down on Wai's old motor and slot that in
