Default people with top mounts running around 280-300kw???

I'm really trying hard to NOT get a front mount on the '97 STI RA. Would like to hear experiences/links or whatever from people who have got good numbers with top mounts on gc8's.

a) I don't want it to limit the tune though - autronic going in later this month
b) it has the standard water spray set up, surely that would help a LOT.

Thanks guys.

edit = will changed to WITH TOP MOUNTS

I don't think you could reach those figures with a TMIC, the best i've seen is 240kw on Micheal South's 2.5 Version 5 coupe with a 01+ STi TMIC.

My car is being tuned ATM it hit 225kw before it ran out of injectors which again is a 2.5 with a 01+ STi TMIC.

There was a water to air top mount setup for sale on rexnet a while back that the seller said was rated for 300kw. Cant find the link though.

That setup was awesome, but grossly overpriced.

what was the power figures on that white gc8 that won dutton? I belive it was an 02+ sti tmic, ej207, vf37 and if i remember correctly thats pushed out a huge figure nearly 300 atw (that might have been on race fuel though). 9k rev limit, nice high boost ect ect ?

that water to air kit looks the piece..

but i'd still rather stick with the sti topmount along with the water spray i have in there now... i just can't find anything on the web suggesting the limitations of this setup in terms of power.

might have to head to the ra website to see if that can shed some light

When you go to get your autronic tuned, they'll tell you if intake temps are limiting the tune or not.
Then you can stress about it. =)

i think ive read somewhere that a good quality TMIC can handle 260kw ATW...

so maybe a front mount is the way, or not so much power
