Can I fit a 2.5L to my GC8 AUTO??
It's getting closer to the time for a rebuild and I'm strongly considering going for an EJ25T, will this couple to an auto trans in a GC8???

It would probably work very well with the auto box having the extra low down torque.

i dont plan on going crazy with the motor, just drop in a stock 2.5L. So will most likely just have the auto recon'd.

Add a oil cooler for the auto box.
Cheap to do and goes a long way to the longevity of the auto box especially on a 2.5L turbo.

What sort of cost am I looking at?? Cos the whole engine/trans/turbo has lasted 350,000kms as a stock 2.0L so would it really be necessary??

oil cooler and get the auto shift kitted, your 2.0L doesn't make as much torque as the 2.5L will and the box will probably last fuck all if you don't get it mildly worked and add a good cooler to it. Talk to Dean at Fremantle Torque Converters, he knows his shit on auto's and did a lot of good work for me when i was at Speedworks
