Half Cage
Let the flaming begin, I searched and read all the old cage posts but thought I would post my own.
I am thinking of getting a half cage. Which of you guys that have done this can give me some info on the best place to go? I have been recommeded Bond Roll Bars by a few guys. And who will try tell me it is a bad idea to do, obviously will be removing back seats and reg as 2 seater? Cheers

There are few ways to get cages (half/full)
You do it the right way, welded on and complies with whatever regs (depends on what you're doing it for), CAMS, etc Or the usual ones which are for show which doesn't do much to streghtening the chassis If you're doing this, suggest you go and chat to the guys that actually build cages for race use as they will know the standards the car need to comply with. CAMS would be a good start |

Forgot to ask, can someone give me the names of a few workshops I would go to to talk about this?
Cheers

I had a four point cage built for my capri by maitland performance fabricators. This was to ANDRA spec and engineer aproved/licenced for the street. 93716786.
Cheapest isnt always the best when it comes to things like cages. Cheers Brett |

Might be worth asking yourself why you want a cage as well. Is it genuine, or is it for wank?

LF performance cages FTW!
But yes, I echo what Luca says. If its for wank, get a Cusco bolt in from Japan so you dont tear the car up, and you can take it out at any time.

One of my main reasons was I was told it will help with stiffening up the car. But that could be bullshit at the end of the day I do not know that is why I ask. I plan on using the car for some sprint events next year and I am thinking that a cage is not nescasary for this at all. Maybe it is just me wanting an excuse to do something else to her, might be money better spent on some more suspension components. Cheers
