How about 02's?

Update - Disconnected the MAF sensor while the engine was running, it stalled and threw a CEL. Started the car up again out of interest and it ran fine with the MAF still disconnected. Also noticed the idle exhaust note sounded better (back to the typical lumpy boxer sound).

Reconnected the sensor and took the car for a run around the block. Sounded like it was breathing better but low boost (back to the original reason for this thread). Reset the ECU and took her for another run and all seems well for now (99%).

Intermittent fault with the MAF perhaps?

A MAF wont go bad instantly, usually. It will deteriorate over a while and eventually cause wrong voltages to be sent to the ECU. So it may be alright now, but everytime you give it some, you might be getting different reads from the MAF and putting in the wrong fuel mixture.

Unless you have a spare $5000 floating around......

Don't try to drive it on boost until you have it checked (i.e. dyno with a wide band O2).

(Otherwise you'd better look up a good Flatbed tow truck now...... and keep the number in your speed dial.)

Trying to drive the car on boost with a possible MAF issue is asking for BIG wallet draining trouble.

Borrow a known good MAF off another member and try that.

Don't fuck around with yours and don't keep trying to boost it ffs!

I take that back... car is running at around 75% of it's normal capacity.

Car is doing the same as what I reported on the 15th Apr (quoted below).

On thing I have noticed is it seems a lot laggier. Is reaching 15psi say around 4000rpm but I don't notice any major pull/g-force until higher in the rev range say 6000rpm.

Prior to these issues it was quite the opposite. The car would move through the rev range super quick and most power was felt around 4000rpm.

I'll take on your concerns LegacyRS and will get it booked in.

I, like you, don't like going to the shop either but in this instance I think it will save you bulk $$$$

Mainly trying to get some troubleshooting done. I think it's important that I note my observations too rather than just handing the car over and saying "fix it".

Other issue is a live SoR and use the car for work so it's a real mission getting it to the workshop etc.
