No probs. They're a good bunch of guys.
Just a thought, are you sure it's not that section of loom that's dodgy/causing you issues? Only reason I ask is because the crank angle sensor and water temp sensor are so close to each other, and in the same loom, your crank sensor may not have been dodgy, but my messing with the wires, you fixed it, but in turn have now fingered a temp sensor wire. Maybe?...

yeah it could well be,
I think in the coming days i will be cutting off the corrugated flexi and tape and having a closer look, but thing is... on my cluster the temp sensor works just fine!?!? |

I'm not 100% on this, someone way be able to confirm, but I've got a feeling there's two water temp senders.
In the picture below I've labelled them 1 and 2. 1. I think (not near car, going from memory) is a little metal stud, that a little lug slides over, this is the sender for the temp. gauge. 2. Is the water temp sender to the ECU for cold start etc. Like I said, I may be completely wrong, but just because your temp gauge is working, doesn't mean your ECU temp sensor (2) is.

i changed (2)
so now i have 2x functional sensor number (2) i might have a look at (1) atleast now i have smooth power to 7000rpm. the only thing happening is the fans are permanently on, its never liked cold starts. |

Wait, what ecu are you running?
When did you change (2)? was that before or after your crank angle sensor issue? Sorry, just trying to get a bit of idea of what you changed and when.

Changed that sensor today after changing crank sensor. I had 2 codes I'm pretty sure.
Back to a stock ecu, had power fc but a bad tune dropped the valves requiring a rebuild. I didn't look at sensor (1). Didn't even know it was a sensor |

Ahhh righteo.
I'm not 100% sure it is a sensor. But from memory it has a single wire with a little slip on lug connected to it. Typical looking temp gauge sender.

Bad tune, it got half a km from their shop and died, valves dropped somehow or something like that. Required rebuild. This is what I was told. Happened a few months before I bought it.
I'm having a look at that sender now |
