Alignment Settings
Just wanted an indication as to what everyone here is running in terms of alignment settings. I'll be fitting some Cusco strut tops soon and wanted to know where I should start in terms of settings. If people could also list what they found in terms of tyre wear, turn in crispness etc it would be great.
The car is a daily driver and is used for M/C's and possibly some track work soon. Thanks in advance, Darren |

Front : Camber -3 Toe 0
Rear : Camber -2 Toe 0 Car is daily driver and I have very even tyre wear. If you want better turn in at MC, go for 1mm total toe out at the front but this may cause the car to wander at high speed. |

Start @ F -2.0, R -1.5, 0 Toe - if that doesn't suit, go for Jonno's set-up. My old car was set-up the same as this it seemed to work fine - just remember to rotate your tyres more often to even out tread wear.

toe: i've got a bit of toe out on the back and 0 toe on the front.
camber: -3.5 on the front, -2 on the rear (was looking at having less) Seems to work alright for me, but it totally depends on driver and tyres and the rest of your chassis tuning. |

-1.7 camber on the front
-1 camber on the rear. 5 degree of castor 0 toe front, and 1 degree of toe out on the back. can't remeber if this is +1 or -1. though i think it is + for out and - for in ?? rear toe out helps for initial turn in. but then you need to take in to concideration, tyre choice. if they are not stickey but a hard compound. you are going to understear like a biatcha. then you have different size swaybars, ride height, different shock rebound and dampening. 8| |

MC's is the local Motorkhana competition here in Perth Vaccine (MC Motorsports). I think I may try -2.0 front and -1.0 to start with and work from there.
Can someone decribe the effects toe at the front and rear have on handling? Darren |

I was running F: -3 and R: -2.5 on my white car and it was giving pretty decent tyre wear still. I found the front camber a little too much for my setup though, in that at MC I was not getting has much grip on the inside front wheel on corner exits - it would light up as soon as it came on boost exiting corners. My blue car worked pretty well with F:-2 and R:-1.5. Then again, it all depends on each driver's driving style/preference I suppose.
I did have 4mm (or minutes, can't remember) total toe out on the rear in my white car and it was fantastic for changing directions at MC. Slight dab at the brake pedal and the rear comes around pretty quick. Last edited by scoobysix; 18-07-2005 at 07:26 PM. |
