'race car' bonnet stand
Unsure if this has been posted before but i thought I'd share for those of you who like to tinker under the bonnet. As you know it can be a little tight working under the bonnet for extended periods of time. well subaru know this and actually have a system in place for vertical bonnet access.
Simply remove the bonnet latch from its rubber mount (rubber will most likely come out with it) insert the catch but in the upside down position, then mount into the strut top. as per the image. GC's have the hole on the top of the strut tower.

Just dont bump the car or the bonnet will move and end up crashing down onto your head...

Corrie (gx_rex) also sells struts that lift the bonnet vertical that are heaps more stable than this solution. Stace has a set I think.
Thread is here http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...=bonnet+struts Well worth it in my opinion. He also gets his struts from a local supplier rather than some of the cheap "ebay spec" ones you see from time to time.

Dougie and Damien were doing this but decided to go 1ea of
the CF goodness as it's much more secure for their purposes, one nice gust of wind out on a stage and by by windscreen or head. However ideal for enclosed areas such as garage or workshop.
