MY01+ Ecu's in Classic Shape
Maybe one of the techno boffins on the forum would be able to help me with my question...
Is it possible to swap in a new age wrx (MY01 -> onwards) ECU into say a classic shape WRX? Surely it would be some creative wiring and some sensors correct? Pete. |

Won't work, few reasons
1) map sensor 2) avcs 3) the map will be wrong (i suspect you wont have a problem with that tho pete) 4) igniters on the coils are different 5) idle control setup stepper in early cars, servo in later cars i think 6) Immobiliser WTF issues. It'll be exciting, but if you just do ignition, fuel and boost it'd probably work. Eventually. Maybe. |

Yeha i was thinking MY01 into classic shape as we all know that the slugeyes came without AVCS.
But was fairly unsure about the rest of the bits and pieces... |

i cant see why not,
although it would be very easy if you had access to an 02+ manifold, coilpacks and maf sensor to swap over at the same time

I'd like to bring this to the top, would you really need to do that list to swap it in for a verso tune on a MY00 STI?

wouldnt it be easier / more cost effective to goto an autronics etc? PowerFC D-Jetro at the very least...
