Is it the EJ257 (sodium filled valves) we get in AUS or the EJ255?

Andrew, is your post in reference to seagulls findings? or are you asking in relation to what motor variants AUS gets?
EJ**7 = sti EJ**5 = wrx (and your liberty) Rule applies to both 2.0L and 2.5L versions.

I'm pretty sure all turbo (205, 255, 207, 257) EJ series engines have sodium filled exhaust valves.
