So how does the oil cooler pictured in the first post work?? I thought a factory oil cooler had a core (as per S204, etc), I've never actually seen one of these water cooled ones before.

the sandwich plate itself is the cooler, as you can see theres two pipes coming from the plate feed in and feed out, coolant is cooler then oil, hence how it becomes the cooler. quite common on honda's.

I think the set-up in my pic is what most Subies have from the factory, it has a water in and out pipe, one pipe comes from the block, the other goes on that nipple on the thermostat housing...
