Theres nothing to scan really, all the manual gives you is voltage at the ECM,
most of what i know is from reading data from various cars.

Another thing to be aware of is impedance of the solenoid coil, which specced at 6-12ohms.
With regard to using a boost controller (as Rossco suggested) to power the system, most boost control solenoids are around 30ohms. On Subaru's anyway.

SO an inline resistor would probably be nessacary.
I still think its the best idea though.

I think the starting point will be getting the car on the dyno, with just a basic controller to drive the motors open for the AVCS. Start with small increments and see how it all goes. Oil pressure will be a problem & there will be no way I can think of right now to get any feedback as to where the cams are, when they are retarded or advanced.

I need to keep in mind the cams that are going in the car will be larger than Spec C cams. The heads are Spec C, so they already have decent ports, but we are going to open these up even more. This in itself will obviously help to make the engine breathe better. How the AVCS will affect my actual set up is going to be a suck it and see I think.

Another thing, the oil pump on the AVCS engines is the higher flow one, I think its the 12mm?

Good point John. We have the 12mm pump already, so hopefully no issues there.

I see Greddy do a V Manage, this is only available it seems for the GD range. I wonder if this would control it?
