i know u cant repair the BB turbos but i have a vf 34 p18 and its not giving me the power i am looking for at the top end only getting 260hp at 19.5. Is it possible to get more flow out of them? Or do i need to buy a new turbo? its only a year so i dont really want to spend that sort of money again soon.

grab a p20 housing for it and run some more boost depending on your engine (22-24psi). Should net you some higher figures.

How do i go about getting just the housing and how much would one cost? but thats just the houseing right not the actual exhaust wheel? Im looking for 300hp the tuner only did the boost to 19.5 as it cant hold the boost drops back to around 15-16 at 7k. I want something that can atleast hold 19.5 to redline. Will it do that for me?

Hmmm....What engine? 207?

Your tuner has tuned it 'safe'.

my small vf29 runs 24 psi on my version 6......same p18 exhaust housing.

what intercooler?
Are you sure your cooler isn't holding you back?
1.35 -1.4 bar is the safe limit for stock Gc intercoolers....before detonation becomes an issue.

What ecu? What boost control system?

i got a cypher front mount and a greedy profec b spec 2 boost and Pwr FC. Not sure if it is a 207 its the old 94 rex but the motor has alot internal work done about 60k ago. The tuner did say it is a everyday all day tune. But even at 19.5 psi by 7k its at around 16 so why put it up 24 psi if it cant hold it for long? will ya get much power gain from it? it does over boost sometime up to 24-26 psi but i dont notice it much when it does. Seriously thinking of selling the vf34 for something larger that doesnt drop right off after 5500 rpm.

How much power u making with 24 psi? got a graph?

Nope no graph yet......Will get it back for a power run sometime soon.

Why are you running a standalone boost controller when the PFC has an inbuilt controller that would handle your boost level fine with the factory system? ( i run the pfc inbuilt system no worries btw)

I was making 241/358 as in my sig with stock everything except a 3" tbe & the pfc.... the stock v6 cooler held me back @ 1.4 bar....
I'm running the Gd Sti top mount, cai, silicone intake etc now & I get lower knock index numbers (max of about 11-15) @ 1.6 bar than I did running 1.4 with the old setup.

I'd say it's making 270 -280 ath, but it is basically a crisp, lag free setup & that's what I was aiming for.

If you have stock 205 heads & cams you, won't make a lot of power over about 6.5k rpm regardless of how much boost you wack into it.

The boost taper helps prevent this at high rpm.....

Define "a lot of internal work"
what rods?
what pistons?
heads/cams?

how ur knock sensor reads that low? the guys at all star garage told me not to worry unless it gets above 50 mine usually 20-30 at 7k revs.
Cant tell u what gear is inside as i am not to sure just that its all forged, done by the previous owner and he was running 300 hp before the turbo had enough and went bang.
About the pfc boost controller, that is an add on as far as i was told and all star said they are useless, no offence mate, and when i had my aristo i had one in there so bought another one, good unit.
Yeh i thought lag would piss me off but after awail with a front mount lag is there anyways so now i just want that power when it comes on. i got a graph in the power sticky if ya wanna look its recently added.
Do you have an idea what size turbo u would need that would hold atleast 1.3-1.4 bar to redline? something that doesnt die at the end ?
how do u adjust the boost taper or is that a turbo charcteristic? im abit of noob with turbo spec readings lol

the Pfc boost control for the WRX isn't an add on, it's built in.
For NISSAN pfc's you need the add on kit.

No Offence taken......I've run Profec's & Profec B's in my previous cars, the power fc holds boost just as well imho.

Sean told me anything up to 35 is safe for knock on the pfc. my (i tune my car myself) current tune is 1.65 bar, knock maxing at 15 at peak torque, afr's of 11.6.

If it has made 300hp what has changed?
What turbo was on it before?
How much boost was it running?

here's my 241 graph:

As rossco said, the only way to get more power from your current turbo is to upgrade the exhaust housing and screw in more boost, which could be risky if you don't know what internals have been upgraded.

The best bet would be to get a larger turbo and stick with current boost levels (and give it full boost (19.5psi) to redline if you want), if the turbo is more efficient the same boost will give you much better power levels. See Ballistc's graphs when he changed from a VF22 to a TD06.
