Just like wheel studs and nuts. A smear of high temp antisieze would solve it.

Steve, I'm only running the dba 4000s with no spacers. Torque wrench is set to what ever the book has for the normal requirements, 80 - 90 Nm from memory, but they weren't that tight when I took the wheel nuts off, actually thought they should have been tighter, but forgot to look at the wrench because the rim was causing so many issues.

Had a look at the nickle never-seize (for stainless steel) rated to 1400c by Rocol, so it looks like that will be my solution.

Stuff has a habit of getting every where, so will just have to be careful.

Tim, try cleaning up the faces first and set your torque wrench to 65 ft/lb...putting anything on the rim/face could be fraught with danger...

When this happened the first time, I did clean the faces, as stated in post #7, and agree using anything on the faces could be a bit iffy, but there is anti brake squeal on the back of the pads now.

This other never seize is rated to 1400 degrees c, but not sure if it changes consistancey before then as its usual use has it on the threads of a bolt or stud and somewhat held in by that, but is also subjected to high steam temps and pressures.

65ft/lbs is pretty close to 90Nm.

silly question, but why would it be dangerous?

if the disc came off it would be the last of my worries, id be asking where my wheel has gone.

The main thing is you don't want to get any greasy compounds on the brake rotors.

^^^ agree, thats what Steve is getting at, and at this stage, if it was a front rim, the brake disc would be attached to it.
