2 stage boost controllers...?
Hey guys,
Im trying to figure this out... some people say when you change the boost settings you 'should' get a re-tune so that everything is keeping up with the extra PSI... (fuel/air ratio...stuff like that) Is this true? or can you run a dual stage boost controller and change the boost on the go like the seller suggests? I was looking at this one... Tune for highest planned boost level - you can always run less boost day to day & turn it up to the peak level the tune was set for at the drags.

thanks for the fast reply...
I was just planning on setting it from stock PSI ( i think is...8?) to about 14-15 PSI max! I have a turbo back exhaust and a turbosmart BOV...thats it, i have read that the engine will go pop? or is that only if you get stupid with the settings on a stock engine... ---> The tune will come later down the track when i get the new up-pipe, down pipe and 3" turbo back SST exhaust |

Or just get it tuned to the max boost you want and is safe, then use the infinite steps available up to that point, ie your right foot. That was the advice given to me by the late Steve Whisby.

Would it be safe to run the car at a constant 15 PSI...? even on hot days?

You are already running just under 14psi so why bother?

Yes, a stock WRX runs about 0.9 bar or roughly 13ish psi max.
I don't understand 2 stage boost controllers. Tune for peak figures imo, control boost by not mashing the throttle.

Waste of money. Get a tune and use your foot to adjust the maximum boost. Won't save any fuel if that's what you're worried about.
